The African American Freedom Movement, 1965-1970

Assignment Four
The African American Freedom Movement, 1965-197

The struggle for freedom and liberty did not begin in the 1960s, but it did accelerate. Before looking at the primary sources for this essay, read pp. 126-133, 166-170, 214-219 in the Isserman textbook. Also, watch all the videos in the folder before attempting to write this essay.

Using the sources provided, and any others you find, write a 3-5 page history of the diverse groups and goals in the African American freedom movement from 1965 to 1970. You must determine who was important, what ideas were important, and you must include specific events and struggles. Also, make note of how the civil rights struggles changed in these years. This should be doubled spaced and in 12 point font.
