Questions.

1. Should the Sales of Goods Act apply to private sales, such as a private individual selling their car?
In addition, please explain whether protecting consumers through consumer protection law is worth the additional regulation that impacts a business. Why or why not?

2. Do the current defamation laws in Canada adequately cover statements made about others or businesses via social media? If so, how and if not, what changes are required to adequately cover such statements?
3. Your new business is in the process of hiring employees. Please explain the steps necessary to ensure the hiring process is fair and the employment contract is enforceable.
Is there an advantage to your business using only independent contractor’s vs hiring employees?
4. Following the COP26 summit, Canada made several announcements with respect to climate change policy. As a signatory to the Paris Agreement, does Canada have the ability to determine its own climate change policy? Why or why not? Choose one of the recent climate change announcements (after COP26) and explain how that announcement is linked to environmental law. How realistic is the achievement of this goal?
