Brief Writing Assignment One
Write a one-page paper (250 words or less) about the article by Marilyn Katz, “Women, Children and Men.” Briefly explain the author’s main argument, and what is unique or distinctive about it (compared to previous perspectives that she mentions briefly). Discuss how she supports her case. What are the main types of evidence used by the author? How convincing are the arguments advanced by the author? Try to discuss some of the strengths and weaknesses of the author’s perspective. You might also discuss why it is important.
