The patient came to her Doctor’s
appointment. A busy clerk pointed at her
to: “sit down and wait”. After waiting for
sometime she approached the clerk
again, and this time she yelled at her:
“WAIT UNTIL WE CAL YOU!”. Finally, she
was brought into the doctor’s office, who
quickly asked her a few questions,
prescribed antibiotics and told her to
come back in a month. The patient
wanted to ask some questions, but the
doctor brushed her off, and left. On the
way to the pharmacy, the patient asked a
nurse to give her directions, she
responded: “I don’t know, it’s not my
business, find out for yourself!” She is
offended by this non-friendly culture, and
tells all her friends and loved ones to
avoid this hospital, but not before she files
a complaint against all the staff! referencing is important (u can reference from journals, literature review and search the web)
– dont copy-paste the ppt or the templates bcz theyre different topics (theyre provided to give u an idea
about the organization and rubric of the project)
-problem solving; situational description is important
-dont focus too much on root cause analysis – problem definition is really important
-innovation part has a huge percentage of grades so please make it perfect
-DO NOT use fancy vocabulary; keep it simple -5 pages double spaced, font 12, DO NOT put the
references in a separate page
Unless otherwise stated in the stem of the scenario; assume the patient in the following scenarios is an
otherwise healthy 55-year-old lady. Assume the scenario is taking place in a 200 bed secondary level care,
private hospital. Assume that the scenario reflects the norm in this hospital. Finally, approach these
problems mostly from an “operational improvement” perspective. The likelihood of solutions requiring a
significant amount of resources (whether financial, space or human) being accepted is minimal to none.
Please note the following:
Plagiarism is defined as the presentation of another’s writing or ideas as your own. Students are urged to
be careful that they properly attribute and cite others’ work in their own writing. Make sure that you
reference appropriately. Serious, intentional plagiarism will result in a penalty and may result in the work
not being graded. This includes copying work from fellow students.
Please follow the student template and the doctors template but more focused on the student version.
