While the list of specific problems, issues, and factors that contribute to the field of multicultural education are convoluted, broad and copious, they are further complicated by the division between regular and special education. This assignment asks you to: 1. Evaluate the interaction between social context, management and organization of culturally diverse classrooms, and the society at large. 2. Integrate cultural information about selected ethnic and language minority learners (and their families) into the goals of supporting their academic learning and communicating more sensitively with these learners and their support system (parents ,etc.). 3. Examine knowledge, paradigms, and perspectives on the United States and the world to deal effectively with both the challenges and opportunities of diversity in the realm of education. 4. Analyze the concepts, paradigms ,and explanations needed to become effective practitioners in culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse educational settings. 5.
