The Portfolio consists of three parts:
1. The Portfolio (35%) will be composed of 4-8 double spaced pages of substantially revised and expanded creative work that has been developed from one
or more Exercise Revisions and discussed with the instructor in the Tutorials. The Portfolio will begin with a Title Page and then a Table of Contents, followed
by the 4-8 pages of creative work (this could be one 6-page piece or two 3-page pieces; the specific combination is up to the course participant, decided in
consultation with the instructor during the Tutorials). The Portfolio must be in Manuscriipt Format, which means that there are no spaces between
paragraphs (paragraphs are indented) and the piece is double spaced with standard font and margins.

2. Following the Exercises, the Portfolio will include a 1.5-page Reflection (5%) in which you assess your trajectory as a writer in this course, and discuss how
this experience connects to your previous and future learning experiences and goals. In order to earn the 5% for the Reflection, the course participant must
post a Draft of the Reflection and attend a Tutorial with the instructor to discuss the Reflection.
3. Finally, the Portfolio will include a one-paragraph self-assessment of your participation in the course, in which you grade your participation based on the
group-authored participation clause.
Portfolio Assessment Criteria
The creative piece or pieces will be assessed according to 1) the creativity and complexity of their response to the course readings, 2) their ability to surprise
and delight the reader, 3) overall correctness, fluency, coherence, completion, care in composition.
The Reflection will be assessed according to 1) honesty, 2) authenticity of connection to course concepts, readings, and assignments, 3) ability to engage its
reader emotionally, 4) correctness and fluency.
This is a little revision letter that I think offers good advice. We can’t stick the manuscriipt in a drawer, but as can do the rest of it.
