Each student will complete a stand-alone research paper that surmises the theoretical
differences between and practices of management versus leadership. Focusing on
specific topic in management and leadership, students should further identify how
different leadership styles could impact organizational culture, change and productivity.
Students will conclude their research paper by outlining how their research can be
applied in their own workplace and/or life situation. Each section of the paper should
have Level II headers to make it easy for the reader to understand what topics the are
discussing. The paper will include the following main sections:
Provide a Title Page for their paper
Provide an abstract for their topic
Provide an introduction to the topic to include your point of view (proposition) on
the topic
Explain why the topic is important. (Body of paper should focus on discussing the
theoretical differences, different leadership styles and impact this has on the
organizational culture
Conclude by making clear how the material in the review has supported your
view (proposition) as presented in the introduction.
Provide a Reference Page(s) for the paper
The assessment of the final paper will consider the following:
Paper Formatting and Structure
Grammatical Errors
Depth of Theory and Critical Thought
Citation (In-text)
Flow and Transitional Statements
Reference Page Formatting (APA)

Students should discuss final project with Professor no later than week 4 to ensure the
topic they intend on doing their research on is acceptable.
The paper will be typed, double-spaced, use Times New Roman in 12-point font and
otherwise follow APA formatting standards. The length of the paper should be
approximately 6 – 8 pages in length.
You must include at least eight (8) peer-reviewed academic articles in your paper to
support your literature review.
1. Submit your completed Research Paper through Turnitin no later than Sunday of
Week 7 at 11:55 p.m. (CST).
Presentation:
1. Students will prepare a power point presentation that provides an overview of their final
paper. The power point can be voice over audio recording and/or video recorded (via
YouTube). If students elect a voice-over audio student should email/upload their power
point. Before doing so students should make sure the audio is working. If students elect
to use YouTube, they should email the link for their presentation and ensure that the link
works. Submission of this assignment should be submitted NO later than Friday of
Week 8 at 11:55 p.m. (CST). The power point should consist of the following:
a. Cover page with title, student’s name, University’s name, Course name,
professor’s name.
b. Opening/Overview of topic with no more than five bullet points on any one
slide.
c. Theories addressed in your final paper
d. How they can be applied in the real world
e. Students’ take-away from the project
The presentation should not exceed 8 slides; students may add notes in section of their
power point that is allowed but are not required to for this assignment
