HEALTHCARE INNOVATION-BASED STRATEGY: MANAGING CARE

Written Assignment: Personal Development Plan
HEALTHCARE INNOVATION-BASED STRATEGY: MANAGING CARE
Week 7 | Thinking Like an Innovator
Instructions:
Create a personal plan for developing innovative thinking skills and habits. This plan should be for six months, and include plans for a reflection at the end when you will ask yourself hard questions and try to answer them as honestly as possible. Please reference what you learned from an innovator you admire.
For this week, I will evaluate your plan in several ways.
• Did you set an ambitious (not preposterous) goal or set a low bar?
• Did you focus your thinking on problems and opportunities that matter?
• Did you propose daily habits for yourself? Back up for when the daily habits seem to unravel?
• Did you build a support system for your innovation thinking, using mentors or others who can really listen to you and will be constructive listeners? What other resources will you enlist to support more innovative thinking?
• Did you propose a practical and specific way to monitor and track your progress over the six months?
This personal plan is essentially a compact with yourself. Create a format that fits into 3 pages that you will be able to use and refer to over time. Classic written “papers” are probably not the best format, but I will leave open the possibility that you could convince me otherwise.
