Word Picture Instructions:
Select a Noun (Person, Place or Thing) that you feel you could describe in vivid detail.
Think of your 5 senses: taste, touch, smell, hear & see. Use these 5 categories to help you create a list of adjectives and phrases that describe your noun.
Use the words and phrases from step number 2 and create a narrative/a story.
In the narrative do not tell the reader what the noun is.
End the narrative with one of these questions: Who am I, Where am I or What am I?
After asking the question, answer it (tell the audience what you were describing)
The Narrative should be between 150-170 words.
As she sat on her plush sofa she could feel the excitement build in her body. All of a sudden her mouth literally began salivating as she began to think about what she was going to taste. Slowly she grabbed a small plastic rectangular yellow bag from her purse. The yellow bag had little pictures on it that represented the content inside. The little pictures were blue, orange, red, yellow and green. She slowly made a small tear at the corner of the bag. And anxiously pulled out something that was about an inch tall and very soft. She could see that it was covered with tiny white crystals. She popped the blue colored thing in her mouth. Her taste buds burned with flavor! Sour, sweet and berry – mixed in the most delightful way. She began chewing the soft and sticky funny shaped thing. Delicious! As soon as she swallowed the blue one she happily and excitedly searched for a red, or orange. What is she eating?
