Instructions
For this assignment, you will need:
Family Health Tree
DA2 Task3: meal plan’s ASA24 report
DA2 Task 4: Dining by traffic light
In a 2-3 page report, discuss:
How did your experience of doing the DA2 project compare/contrast with doing the DA1 project? In other words, how was doing a meal plan for future
consumption vs. doing a food journal retrospective of the past? Any preference between the two? Explain.
How was your experience of eating an unprocessed and/or plant based diet for one day as part of our class? Worth repeating on your own or not? Explain.
Using the DA2 Task 3 and Task 4 assignments (meal plan’s ASA24 report & Dining by traffic light), what are the strengths of your meal plan and the areas that
need change, if any.
Using your Family Health Tree, research 3 dietary/lifestyle strategies you can adopt in order to reduce your risks of developing the (3) target health conditions
in your family tree (1 strategy per disease). Be specific: include detailed dietary and/or lifestyle behaviors (actions), lists specific foods (not only food groups)
proven to be preventative for your chosen diseases.
Note: losing weight is NOT an action. It is the result of other specific actions. For example; reducing portion sizes, cutting out sweetened beverages,
eliminating night eating…etc. Be specific about HOW you will lose, gain, or maintain weight if that is a lifestyle change you would like to incorporate.
Your diet/lifestyle strategies must be evidence-based i.e. supported by facts with appropriate citations in standard APA format. For instructions on how to
use APA citations in an essay, please consult the Citation Style tab from the PCC Library Research Guide.
Each dietary strategy should be a paragraph (paragraph = minimum of 6 complete sentences) written in font size 12 within standard margins.
End with a meaningful conclusion. What would you like to remember from this assignment/exercise? Any other comments/observations/reflexions?
