Understanding of QG safety standards, procedures and policies associated with specific activities
– To become an active safety officer, it’s part of his/her duty to understand and follow the procedures and use it as its essential backbone to relate in day-to-day practice. Therefore, many procedures needed to be studied and refer to on the process of my learning journey. Here are some of the procedures that I had to study and use it as a reference in my IDP daily tasks:

o Since joining Qatargas in 2018, the first procedure that I had go through as a new joiner is getting an understanding of HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL AND QUALITY (HSE&Q) POLICY.
o Contractor Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management procedure. When I joined PMD in 2020, It was essential to go through this procedure to understand the background of responsibilities of safety officer roles in PMD and use it as a reference to support the department. Some of the major highlights in the procedure: Understanding the roles and responsibilities of PMD role with contractors and providing the support needed from HSE perspective. Overall understanding of all the phases from pre-mobilization, execution, Safety program & KPI review until demobilization & closeout.
