Applied Methods

abstraction diagrams, ladder- up/ladder-down, relationship diagrams, etc. These applied methods diagrams are important for several reasons (see rationale
below), and allow students to develop practical skills for more effectively designing and managing research in the creative industries. Our text book [Collins,
H. (2017). Creative research: the theory and practice of research for the creative industries. Bloomsbury Publishing] presents different diagramming tools as
applied methods, and the lecturer will work with students in seminar to develop their diagramming skills, and to draw out their organisational strategy
implications.
he second diagram submission will be accompanied by 500-750 word explanation, with a greater emphasis on drawing out organisational strategy
implications of the diagrams. Thus, students will submit two diagrams and a maximum total of 750 words explanation in week 6 and the second diagram
submission (up to three diagrams and max total of 750 words, with an emphasis on organisational strategy, in week 11)
