Assignment III (100 pts.)

Pick one of the theorists previously discussed in assignments one and two. Identify five scholarly research articles which have relevance to the theories discussed in assignment one and two. Write a five page response addressing the following expectations: (1) Thoroughly discuss the articles and how they support the theories and issues noted in previous assignments; and (2) Discuss how the theories have generated research in the field of child and family development.

Commonly asked question: Why are we doing this assignment? Because I said so! (lol). The purpose of this assignment is to expand your experience with comprehensive topic writing. Now you are moving from theory development exclusively to a research driven approach to identifying scholarly research articles to analyze and support your theory development. If you truly want to learn theories relevant to Child Development, you will need to learn them from their bibliographies, to basic assumptions and paradigms, and research that supports these theories.

General Instructions

• Scholarly articles used to support assignments need to come from peer reviewed journals (see Kent librarian or instructor if unclear).

• Papers must be complete respective to page numbers. For example, a two-page paper means two complete pages of work or the assignment is incomplete.

• If assignment is provided in paper format, it must adhere to the following guidelines: The paper must be typed with 12 pt. & Times New Roman font, double-spaced, grammatically correct, and reflect one inch margins in all directions.

• Provide a bibliography at the end of each response. Bibliography does not count towards the pages that needs to be written to make the assignment.
