Final Project Description
Your final paper must be related to an issue current in multicultural education, or World Englishes. This assignment is intended to demonstrate your ability to synthesize and evaluate published research and to identify key research questions and issues in cultural issue pertaining to English language learners, based on analyses of previous work. Note that this paper should explicitly describe problem areas in multicultural education, and make specific suggestions for future research.
 The final paper should be between 3000-4000 words (about 10-15 double-spaced pages in a normal font).

You need to select a topic that interests you in Cultural Issues or World Englishes. You will need to gather studies, books, and reviews that address this topic. Read carefully and to find patterns that emerge from the literature so you can synthesize this into a paper. Your paper will take the format of a literature review. It should be organized by topic. You should present research findings and theory, but also critique (evaluate) the findings. You should finish with a conclusion that outlines the implications of the reviewed research to language teaching. You should cite sources appropriately to back up your assertions, but should avoid frequent quoting; the writing should be in your own words.
