2- Infographics

These are instructions for an infographic and a companion summary.

Instructions for infographic:
Content should be clear, concise, well-organized, simple, captivating, easy to understand
Reader can follow the flow of the infographic
Layout should be finalized even if not all graphic elements are yet added, placement should be decided.

Consider visual aids:

include details that are appealing to the eye, including use of colours and fonts
try not to make your layout too crowded
perhaps include animations or videos or flowcharts or comparison lists with bullet points
use visuals to enhance the content and engage the reader
only images that relate back to the content
identify and explain for the reader any reactions/molecules/symbols/drawings.
Your content needs to clearly link to Course Outcomes, so I made some Optional icons to quickly label where you are doing this step. (Course outcome folder and icon will be included).
Make sure you have at least one design element that refers to one recent (in the last five years) scientific research article about chemistry (citation in the summary is fine!) to make your content reflect newer research.

Instruction for companion summary:
Ensure the content reflects the infographic
Try to layout the organization in the key ideas of the summary. Your content needs to explicitly link to Course Outcomes, so here are some Optional prompts to quickly label where you are doing this step. If you come up with an alternative way to explicitly connect to the COs, that’s fine too. Note that being explicit is not an optional part of the scoring of the Final Project!
o “Our infographic connects to CO2 by showing [text].”
o “Our infographic provides evidence of connecting to CO3b when we [text].”
o “In our infographic, you can see CO4b reflected in [text]”
o “[text] to address CO5”
o “[text] in response to CO8
Your content needs to link to the fact that science is an ongoing process where our explanations change as we make new observations. When you refer to one recent scientific research article to make your content reflect newer chemistry research, you will likely be able to explain this aspect more completely than in your Infographic.
The Final Version of the Companion Summary will include the complete end References.

Include in-text citations & your References list but don’t worry too much about citation style at this point. Links might be the easiest thing if you want to use them.

Include all (or at least most) of the sources you plan to use.

I’ve also attached a proposal file, that shows what the infographic and summary should be on.
The questions in the proposal would be the headings for different parts of the infographic.
