Highly porous material has unique physical and mechanical properties. The implementation of shape memory alloys (SMA) in porous material improves the set of application possibilities. The aim of the project is conducting a review on the processing and characterization techniques used for shape memory alloy foam. In addition, the project aims to investigate the mechanical properties of the addition of SMA on high porosity foams on the micro and macro-scale. Furthermore, applications of SMA foams will explored to justify their significance in the biomedical field such as bone implants.
