Project Paper

The topic selected for this course project should involve fire safety related to building design and construction. The length of the paper is 20 pages not including references. References should be used in the paper and cited using APA. The topic should be approved by the instructor. This outline should be followed:

Background
Provide a historical perspective to the problem.

Relevance and Importance
Describe the fire safety topic and its importance to the field. How significant of a topic is it in industry? This can also include a statistical summary in terms of lives lost, reported fires, etc.

Identification
By what means can the fire in building design problem be identified by safety professionals, insurance industry, fire departments, etc.?

Control Measures
For this fire and building design topic, what control measures have been developed to counteract the negative impact of the fire in building design problem?

Evaluation
How effective have the control measures for this fire in building design problem been? Is there room for improvement?

Research Implications
Develop a research goal and five research questions that could be turned into a worthwhile research study. For each research question, identify the variables, their formats, and an appropriate statistical test that can be used to answer the question.
