1. Write a 7-10 pages report and prepare a PPT presentation with 10-15 slides on a selected infectious disease. You will choose one of the infectious
diseases from the list. The review report (10 points) will include the same information that you have to present on the PPT. Points will be deducted for all late
submissions.

4. The presentation must include the following information on pathology and epidemiology of the disease:
-How is it transmitted? What is the reservoir? What is the vector? What is the etiology? (10 points)
-What is the pathology of the disease (body systems affected, how the disease progresses, etc.)? (10 points)
-What is the history of the disease? (5 points)
-Epidemiological data: Which groups of people are more affected? (Geography, age, race, sex, etc). (8 points)
-Method/s of diagnosis. (5 points)
-Prognosis with and without treatment? (5 points)
-What is the current treatment? Were there any other treatments throughout history? Mechanism of action of the current treatment. (10 points)
-Recent information/news about the disease (summarized from scientific journals). (5 points)
-Any other interesting or historical information. (5 points)
5. You must have at least five online sources and one of which is a news or journal article. Bibliography must be written in the MLA style. A Google search will
help you find the correct format (look for “MLA citation”). (5 points)
6. You grade will be based on the following rubric, for a total of 100 points.
7. Projects (PPT) that have been plagiarized will receive a zero.
9. No more than 8 bullets per slide. (2.5 points)
11. Presentation of the project: you will have to present your PPT either synchronously or asynchronously (recorded). Your presentation should last between
10 and 15 minutes. All projects will be either presented or posted during class time. (10 points)
