Scenario: Blumhouse Productions, probably the most active and innovative organization in horror
production over the past decade, is interviewing and vetting you for the position of executive producer and
creative consultant for its projected film: The Golem. As a preliminary to the interview, you are to submit an
essay (detailed below) demonstrating your knowledge of the subject and describing how you would
envision the Golem. Like much of Blumhouse products, the Golem is to frighten but also to address through
