HC System Mind Map Minimum Content and RequirementsPreview the document (use for self-assessment
before submission)
Conduct research and develop a mind map, adding details to the project as the semester unfolds; you are
encouraged to do the updates as you cover the material in class so as not to leave it go to the last minute.
You will be required to submit a draft to illustrate your progress at the end of each week, you may
additionally be requested to meet with me to review your mind map.
Prepare the Mindmap according to the attached detailed instructions
Sketchboard Mind-Mapping Tool (Links to an external site.) (sign up for FREE account using your WCTC
school email address)
Self-assess the draft against the rubric and content checklist
Submit the link to your draft along with your completed content checklist (the checklist may be handwritten,
areas not started may be indicated as such on drafts)
If necessary, schedule meeting with me to review and discuss project drafts (if you are not making sufficient
progress, you may be required to meet with me) Please note that if you are not submitting drafts and
illustrating consistent progress, I may not have the ability to provide you with meaningful feedback on your
project.
Verbal feedback will be provided and discussed at any meetings, you are responsible for recording
feedback and action items for improvement and making any necessary edits to the project.
Written feedback will be provided to you via the Canvas gradebook & assignment rubric.
Incorporate any feedback you receive from me into your project
Re-assess using the rubric/content checklist as before, making notations of the changes you made and
resubmit/meet with me
Once you are fully satisfied that your Mind Map is complete and meets or exceeds all of the criteria, submit
your project, essay, and your rubric self-assessing the project to the this assignment link for feedback.
Your essay will be examined for originality please review your originality score and feedback and if needed
make revisions to your essay until you have an acceptable originality score. If you do not know how to
interpret the score, please schedule a meeting with me.
The scoring for this item represents the grade which is earned as follows:
100% points: Above Expectations – All content criteria are rated as exemplary with map illustrating in-depth
details / annotations and knowledge of concepts presented; project includes a well-written, professional
reflective essay; no suggested improvements (competency demonstrated)
85% points: At Expectations with no suggested improvements – All content criteria are rated as proficient or
above with map illustrating expected level details / annotations and knowledge of concepts presented;
project includes a well-written, professional reflective essay; no suggested improvements (competency
demonstrated)
75% points: At Expectations with suggested improvements – All content criteria are rated as satisfactory or
above with map illustrating basic level details / annotations and knowledge of concepts presented; with
suggested improvements (competency demonstrated)
0% points: Below Expectations – One or more content criteria are rated as NOT observed with map lacking
basic level details / annotations and knowledge of concepts presented; with required improvements to
demonstrate competency (competency not demonstrated)
