The idea is to analyze the cash policy of Swiss firms over the years 1980-2016. A phenomenon that we
observe in the US and other countries is that firms hold more cash. Is this also true for Switzerland? What
explains this?
The proposal should contain:
1. a description of what the research question is (+ description of hypotheses)
2. the motivation of why the topic is interesting;
3. how the question relates to the existing literature (at least the most important papers);
4. how to answer the question(s), i.e., which method is going to be used (panel data regression analysis),
and with which data you are going to work (Worldscope data)
5. a table of contents.
