Drug Comparison
Purpose: Pharmacist should be able to evaluate and compare drug therapies not just based on its effectiveness but also other parameters such as cost effectiveness, ease of use by patients and socioeconomic factors. Purpose of this assignment is to help students understand different basis of comparing two drugs/dosage forms.
Format: Include each of the following sections in your comparison. Format in a MS Word Doc in a Table format. Cite all references.
1. Hypothesize the basis of the comparison (i.e. Why are you comparing the two drugs?)
2. Comparison of patient population in each study
3. Discuss statistical measures applied to each study
4. Discuss compounding factors (if any)
5. Discuss cost of therapy (insurance)
6. Discuss ease of use
7. Discuss general availability of drug
8. Must have a minimum of 5 primary literature resources. In addition, you may also include secondary and tertiary literature resources.
