Over the course of the semester we have read many stories of conformity and rebellion, the individual vs. the mob and the relative value of freedom. For this
paper I want you to address the themes you feel are important in Brave new World. Consider the role of pleasure as a control point, the loss of knowledge,
technology without science. If you wish you may include 1984 in your discussion if it will help. The focus however should remain on Huxley.
Your paper should include no less than six outside scholarly resources; this is in addition to your text. Your research should be scholarly, meaning it is taken
from reputable and accepted sources as discussed in our information literacy sessions. Peer reviewed journals, reputable scientific findings, statistics etc.
are all examples of legitimate sources. Wiki’s, Sparknotes, Cliffsnotes, Google etc. are examples of poor choices.
Your paper will be evaluated on the basis of the quality of your thesis, your ability to sustain and support that thesis, the quality of your research and your
ability to integrate that research into your paper in the form of well-constructed discussion.
