Here are the directions for the Final Paper:
The length of the paper must be between a minimum of 9 pages to a maximum of 12 pages. The text should be double spaced and in 12 font. Use common,
readable type font (e.g. Times New Roman). Your Title Page of the paper should include: Your name, the date of the paper’s submission, the name and
number of the class, the term (Spring 2021) and the title of your paper. Your page of references or Bibliography should appear on a separate page following
your paper. Your bibliographical sources listings should be formatted in APA style. (see Purdue Online Writing Lab, https://owl.english.purduesection/2/10/.
The Title Page and Bibliography do not count as text pages of the Final Paper. Do not include tables or graphs in your paper. Do not list information. Your text
should be composed of complete sentences and paragraphs. Avoid using too many topic headings in the paper.
Your final edition should be grammatically clean, and you should address any problems, inconsistencies, or “holes” left in your rough drafts. All relevant
documentation should be included. You must use the APA style of documentation. Also, make sure you USE the sources you cite in your References page.
Please document all ideas that you borrow from other resources.
Additional guidelines for research papers:
Do not plagiarize. Copying chunks of text, and even close paraphrasing of a text can be construed as plagiarism. I may run all papers through a search
engine. Students caught plagiarizing will receive NO CREDIT for the assignment, and the Plagiarism Policy will be followed. Please become familiar with
Antioch’s plagiarism policy.
Read ahead through course materials and choose an initial topic as soon as possible.
The quality of your research will factor heavily into the quality of your paper.
You must include some of the course readings in your paper and bibliography.
Your topic should pertain to a global ecological issue. Papers pertaining to local recycling efforts, saving a local river from development, etc., while
praiseworthy, will not be accepted. Please clear your topic with me if you are not sure.
