is shown in the following table. The available module in the market is Panasonic (VBHN330SA16). The
available MPPT in the market are shown in the following points where their output voltage is 600V:
1-20kVA, 380V, 80 A, its efficiency is 0.96, its price is $1300/unit
2-40kVA, 380V, 160 A, its efficiency is 0.96.8, its price is $2100/unit
3- 60 kVA, 380V, 240A, its efficiency is 0.97.3, its price is $2900/unit
4-100 kVA, 380V, 400A, its efficiency is 0.98, its price is $4600/unit
If the battery required to support the load for two days where 75% depth of discharge, maximum number of
units in series=10 for all batteries, and the available battery in the market are:
1- Lead acid-1, 2400 kWh, 24 V, 100 Ah, its price is $1700
2- Lead acid-2, 2400 kWh, 48 V, 50 Ah, its price is $1600
3- Lead acid-3, 3600 kWh, 24 V, 150 Ah, its price is $2300
4- Lead acid-4, 4800 kWh, 48 V, 100 Ah, its price is $2800
Module specifications: Panasonic module (VBHN330SA16) rated power=330 W, area=1.67m2, short
circuit current= 6.07 A, open circuit voltage=69.7V, Maximum Power Voltage (Vpm)=58V, Maximum
Power Current (lpm)=5.7A, module efficiency=19.7%.
Inverter: 150kVA, 380V, 60 Hz, efficiency=96%
Battery charger: Input voltage 380V, Output voltage=600V.
(a) Find the optimal tilt angle
(b) Select the suitable MPPT and Battery type from the market available.
(c) Find series modules in each branch and the number of parallel branches.
(d) Find the battery system that can feed the load for one day without generation from PV
system, (neglect charge controller efficiency and charge/discharge efficiency).
