Second language acquisition theory is of an applied nature. In other words, the theoretical conclusions about
second language acquisition aim to not only reveal the specifics of the acquisition process but also to support
the development of sound learning environments and guide the design of effective teaching practices. The goal
of this assignment is to select and assess sources of information that would help you understand outcomes of
research in the field of second language acquisition and their relation to classroom practices.
For this annotated bibliography, search the online library for three peer reviewed articles that address
pedagogical practices aimed at enhancing the process of language acquisition and establishing literacy skills
(at least one of the articles should address reading and writing skills development). Note: Each of your articles
must be peer-reviewed.
Include the following in your annotated bibliography for each resource:
1. A summary of the peer reviewed article with the correct APA formatted citation.
2. An assessment of the objectivity and value of the article within the field of second language, supported by
readings and resources. Remember to use APA 6th edition for your references and citations.
3. An analysis of how the findings shared in the article can contribute to better understanding of SLA and
literacy skills development in the classroom.
4. A reflection on how the article contributes to your understanding of the effect of pedagogical approaches on
SLA and literacy skills and how it can inform your future pedagogical practices.
It must include:

acquisition and literacy skills in the classroom, including proper APA citations.
-Thoroughly assesses the significance of more than three peer-reviewed articles on pedagogical approaches
for enhancing second language acquisition and literacy skills in the classroom, providing significant support
from course resources and proper APA cited references.
-Thoroughly analyzes how four or more peer-reviewed articles on pedagogical approaches can contribute to
effective second language acquisition and literacy skills in the classroom.
-Thoroughly reflects on how peer-reviewed articles contribute to your understanding of pedagogical
approaches for enhancing second language acquisition and literacy in the classroom and how they can inform
your future pedagogical practices.
