Content: You are the Vice-President for Strategic Planning at a large paper company. The CEO of the company
has asked you to develop an analysis of the decision about whether you should move plant operations
overseas or not. You have the same information regarding operational costs and etc. that can be found on the
internet. Using the information in the HBP book Making Decisions, your other readings, and any additional
resources that would help you, write an executive briefing paper spelling out what decisions need to be made,
who should be involved in the decision-making, and what specific tools you think should be used to make a
sound choice. Please remember that ultimately, these decisions will drastically affect the lives of hundreds of
people and your own job security as well.
Format: Your brief should be 4-8 pages long double-spaced. It should have endnotes (NOT included in the tenpage limit) to identify where you acquired the decision-making information that you are providing to the CEO.
