Expanding to Global Markets
Chapter 8 of your book talks about the need to be alert to issues affecting your
organization/field in global markets.
Assume that your client, the one you are doing the final project for, is going to expand to
a specific country (outside of the USA) and your spokesperson is being interviewed by a
local media outlet in the country they are expanding to. If expanding to a new country is
extremely unrealistic for your client, then assume they are still being interviewed by an
international media outlet. Identify local issues that impact your client and the field they
are in. For example, if your client is Uber, then identify recent issues in that country that
has to do with transportation. Remember that the issues must be local to the country
they are expanding to (not local to the USA).
After researching these issues in depth, prepare a brief statement for your client that
describes each issue, and then propose talking points that address your clients’
hypothetical stance on them. Incorporate what you learned in Chapter 8 in your post.
