This is an American Psychological Association (APA) class and therefore, the paper needs to follow the APA format, aka APA style formatting!!! So please ensure you complete the following APA rules (heading, page number, cover page, introduction, title your sections/paragraph, conclusion, reference page with the book done correctly, in-text citation(s), reference ALL information or paragraphs) in order to obtain the maximum points in this area. Remember you were given specific instructions in class on days three and four! You must use your book as a primary source of reference/resources. I have added the reference below for you to put into your reference pages EXACTLY the way I have it written. As well as in your paper….. (Spielman, 2016). OR According to Spielman (2016), …..

Spielman, R.M. (2016). Psychology. Rice University. Openstax

You will write a research style paper using APA format. You will select a topic from your textbook using the ANY of the chapters from the course textbook. You may select ANY topic from the chapters above from the book but please keep it to one topic and not several. That increases the word count. You must then use minimum 3 (or more) other sources that come from a peer-review journal/article or research journal/article, totaling 4 minimum sources. You may NOT use internet sources such as Wikipedia, Newsweek, Cosmo, or WebMD. These are not valid sources. If you are unsure, please come talk to me about it whether it is a valid source. You may have an additional amount of resources to help your research paper flow. YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF FOUR! 4!!! resources for your paper. NO LESS or points are deducted. You need at least two “in-text citation” somewhere in paragraphs. If you choose more, great! You are going to be an excellent writer. Please refer to the example paper to view EXACTLY how to properly cite as well as set up an APA formatted paper.

Your paper entry must be typed using 12 point font (Times-News Roman), a margin size of 1 inch, double-spaced, and have a minimum of 1000 words and a maximum of 1400 words. Turning in less than 1000 words (such as 999), turning a paper in late without a valid excuse, or not at all will result in a grade of “0” on this ONLY paper. Your paper entries must use proper grammar, spelling, and sentence/paragraph structure. You must use paragraphs to organize your thoughts. The paragraphs must be logically organized and thoughts must flow logically from one to the next and named if each section discusses a new topic. A separate title/cover page to the paper with a title, paper number, student’s name, and course information (course name, meeting date(write out the month)/time), and a separate reference page. See the Grading Rubric and example paper on Canvas under these instructions. Copying from another source is a major offense and can result in failure of the class and expulsion for the college – use your own words! ABSOLUTELY NO QUOTING…… NONE!!!!!

You will need to look at the syllabus for your specific class due date.

Ideas to ponder and include in your paper.

1) What is the topic of your choice? Define the topic.

2) What is the topic used for in life, science, population, or its purpose? Explain in detail the purpose of the topic. For example, lobes of the brain. We use them for many reasons.

3) Provide some scientific explanations, examples, stories, or occurrences related to your topic.

4) Provide some testimony from research or valid literature to address the topic.

5) You may include something pertinent to your topic that may not have been addressed above.
