Task Description: Final Project:
Students are required to write an essay from 2500 to 3000 words elaborating the discussed points in their selected topics.
The academic essay should be written following the APA style (Times New Roman – 12- double spacing- In text citation – References Page)
Student should relate his/her selected topic to one of the forms of communication that were introduced in the course.
Submission will be opened from Tuesday, 16th June, at 9:00 AM until Thursday, 18th June at 12:00 AM.
Essay Type: Expository Essay
Choose one of the following types of expository essay considering the purpose of your gathered information.
• Cause and Effect
• Classification
• Problem/ Solution
• Process essay
• Compare and contrast
1) Cause and Effect
The cause and effect essay is built around the reasons that caused something and the results. You write all of the causes and then all of the effects. (Outline 1)
2) Classification
In a classification essay, the writer explains a certain subject generally and then dives into each part in detail. (Outline 2)
3) Problem/Solution
In a problem and solution essay, the writer raises an issue of a particular situation and proposes the best solution. (Outline 3)
Topic: Cyber bullying (a computer based means of communication)
You can demonstrate the gathered information from your reliable and academic sources applying either: a cause and effect, a problem/solution, a classification essay, a process or a compare and contrast essay.
• Cause and Effect: You can choose to identify the causes of cyber bullying (psychological/social) and their impacts on the society/ the victims.
• Classification: You can choose to classify the types of cyber bullying and identify them.
• Problem/Solution: You can choose to highlight that cyber bullying is a critical problem that needs to be solved. Then, propose a previously implemented solution that proved its effectiveness and efficiency.
• Process essay: Refer to the outline of the first assignment. (Demonstrating the how? Tips or steps).
• Compare and contrast: Outline studied in Prep stage.
