Modern art and the tradition of western painting

You do not need to do any additional research to write your answer.
Format: Write clearly and in full sentences. Use correct English grammar and vocabulary. Maximum 1500 words/3 pages single-spaced, Times New Roman 12-point font, 1” (2.45) margins. Number all pages.
Structure: As you did in your research paper for this course, you need to create a clear and focused thesis statement for your essay based on the chosen topic, construct an argument to support your thesis, and use appropriate examples of minimum 5 works discussed in the course to prove your point. Open your essay with an introduction that includes a thesis statement, and end your essay with a concluding paragraph.
Note on examples: Your examples of artworks must be created in the period between 1900 and today, and must belong to different artistic movements and artists. You cannot write about two works by the same artist, even if the works exemplify different artistic movements. We are looking for a depth of argument and breadth of information.
Include specific descriptions and analysis of artworks (provide a title, artist, and date for each work), and use appropriate key terms and concepts from Modules to construct your argument. We are looking for a discerning analysis of works and for a proper application of terms and concepts, in support of your thesis. You are encouraged to seek connections across the movements and examples as a way to advance your argument.
