Write a mathematical biography of the mathematician. Your project must include a personal biography, a mathematical biography and a detailed discussion on some aspect of the mathematician’s work.
The personal biography should be about 1/2 a page and include basic biographical information. When and where was the mathematician born? Family information, etc.
The mathematical biography should be about 1/2 a page and include information about their mathematical life. Where did they study? where did they work? who did they work with?
The mathematical discussion is the most important part, and should be at least one page long. Pick one area your mathematician worked on. Do not simply give an overview or their work. State the most important theorem they proved. Explain the thoerem as clearly as you can in layman’s terms. What are the historical origins of the problem? What was its significance to mathematics?
