As within Christianity, it is difficult to describe the breadth and disparity within Islam as believed and practiced across the globe. This section provides a very brief overview of Islamic Theism as a philosophical system and asks you to research the demographics of Islam across the globe. In what ways might frequent presentations in mass media of “Jihad” and the emergence of radical Islam skew what is understood about Islamic beliefs and practice worldwide? In what sense could it be said that Islam is a “peaceful” religion?
