The essay will be a critical analysis essay of your first essay(College Education is worthwhile), and details are below:

Essay:

1. The essay, like the first essay, will be graded on formatting and critical content.
2. The essay must be formatted in MLA, using footnotes;
3. The essay should be 1800 words plus or minus 10%; the word count will include your title page and footnotes, but NOT your works cited page;
4. Double spaced
5. 12 point
6. Times Roman or Airal
7. Footnotes should be used instead of intext citations APA style.

How to structure your essay:

Your essay should be written as though the author of the your first essay is someone else! You can refer to yourself by name, and/or as “the author” as in “The author states that…”

Your first paragraph should be your thesis statement as usual: “In this essay, I minted to show that…”

You can still agree with your original thesis statement (for example, that College should be defunded, etc) but you should still be able to identify what is lacking in the original thesis. Or, if you have since changes you mind, you can take the opposing thesis in this final essay.

Your second paragraph should be an evaluation and explanation of the key terms used in the original essay, for example:

“The author uses the term “Police” to refer to any law enforcement agency operation in Canada, but does not include law enforcement agencies in the USA or Mexico…”

Your third paragraph should be an evaluation of the terms of reference explained in the second paragraph: do you agree or disagree with these terms of reference? Are the original terms of reference incomplete or adequate for your discussion?

Then, in paras 4 and following, you should explain:

A. What the author [you] got right in the original essay;
B. What the author assumed wrongly or mistakenly in the original essay

In the final paragraphs (conclusion) you should explain how the original thesis could be improved.

You should also use other additional sources in the final essay; these can be sources you used originally, as well as new ones!
