To accomplish the research goal, students write a proposal for research on a communication-related topic. It should be at least 7 pages long (double-spaced, excluding cover page and references), should conform to the APA style, and should include the following:
Introduction
1. A brief explanation of the topic, how it relates to communication, and why it is important to study
Literature Review
2. A review of literature that situates the study within what is already known about the topic in terms of theory and research
3. A clear set of appropriate hypotheses and/or research questions
Research Method
4. A detailed description of, and rationale for, specific procedures for sampling, recruitment, data collection, measurement instruments, and data analysis
Proposal Conclusion
5. A conclusion that includes a brief discussion of your study’s expected findings, limitations, and value.
