Assignment Paper

Summary: Each annotated bibliography must discuss three academic, peer-reviewed articles or book chapters. Each entry (for an individual article or chapter) should be between 200-400 words (one submission should be between 600-1200 words). This is done twice. The annotated bibliographies must examine journal articles or book chapters that reflect independent research of the student. These articles should be part of the research in support of the research essay. This allows students to receive feedback on their developing research paper. Annotated bibliographies are more than just summaries, they must also evaluate the text. Submissions that merely summarize the text will be insufficient. The student is responsible for selecting and obtaining the articles through appropriate databases and search engines. It is highly recommended that the student check with the instructor the suitability of an article/chapter before proceeding – at least in the early stages of the course. Annotated bibliographies should be between 600-1200 words each. They must be in 12pt. Times New Roman font, 1.5 line spaced. Annotated bibliographies should be submitted by the deadline through the relevant portal in Moodle. A cover sheet, with the students name, identifying which assignment is submitted and the word count should be included with every submission. The cover page should also include a list of the articles or chapters, referenced in the appropriate academic citation style. Each entry in an annotated bibliography should begin with a full reference, in the appropriate style again, to the article or chapter under discussion. These references do not form part of the word count.
