Summary

A 500-word statement reflecting on your learning throughout the module.

Purpose

The purpose of this activity is to allow you to reflect on how your learning
can apply to your practice context. It will assess your understanding of the
learning content so far. Reflection is a key component of active learning.

Key Information

During the module, you will be asked to reflect on your learning in relation
to an industry sector, organization or project you have personally been
involved with. This will be used as a personal case study.
It will be helpful to select this ‘case study’ early in the module as you can
draw on your reflection to create submissions for both report and your
learning log. You should ensure that all the information your share is
anonymous. It is good if this case study is set within an industry or
the commercial context you have had personal experience of, however, if you
are having difficulty selecting a suitable ‘case study’ from your work
experience you could select a project or team you have worked within
during your undergraduate studies.
If you do not think you have a suitable ‘case study’ to reflect upon, please
contact the module leader via e-mail during week 1 to discuss your
options.

Task

Throughout this module, you have been asked to complete weekly posts in
your learning journal in which you reflect on your learning from materials
and activities. For this assignment, you should write a 500-word Reflective statement of
your engagement in this module, which draws on your reflective entries in
your learning journal. Your summary should reflect on your engagement throughout the module.
You may wish to comment on:

 To what extent you feel that you have achieved the learning
outcomes for this module?

 Which learning experiences had the biggest impact on you and
why?

 How you intend to build on this reflection in your future modules?
 What could have gone better in this module, and what you could have done differently?

Presentation

Your report should adhere to the guidelines on the presentation of coursework
as set out in Section 3.2a of the Code of Practice on Assessment.

Remember that reflective writing is usually expressed in the first person (‘I
think…’ ‘I believe…).

Referencing
As this is a short reflective piece of writing we wouldn’t normally expect
that you would be citing sources in your Reflective Statement. However, if
you do, you should ensure that your submission is fully referenced using
the Harvard style.
