1. According to the Social Cognitive Theory, self-efficacy is a direct predictor of intention and of behavior. Self-efficacy also pertains to a sense of control over one’s environment and behavior. It also influences the effort one puts forth to change risk behavior and the persistence to continue striving despite barriers and setbacks that may undermine motivation. Self-efficacy is directly related to health behavior, but it also affects health behaviors indirectly through its impact on goals. Lastly, self-efficacy influences the challenges that people take on as well as how high they set their goals.

What does this theory conclude about individuals that have a strong sense of self-efficacy? What type of goals are these individuals usually selecting for themselves? How about their focus? Do they actually focus on the opportunities or obstacles they are facing?

2. Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) Theory explains how, over time, an idea or product gains momentum and diffuses (or spreads) through a specific population or social system. The end result of this diffusion is that people, as part of a social system, adopt a new idea, behavior, or product. Define the term social system as it is being used in this context. Then, discuss the key aspects/elements of these three factors that influence adoption of an innovation. Please provide a couple of supporting examples applicable to each of these three factors:
